MBA Programme Description – HDBW Munich

The MBA curriculum integrates core management disciplines such as strategic management, marketing in the digital age, international business, finance and leadership, with a focus on applied skills that are immediately relevant in business contexts. Courses include case studies, interactive seminars, company visits and networking events, supported by links to the local business community in Bavaria.

Students have the option to specialise in either General Management and Industrial Management - depending on their career goals. And the programme is offered in flexible formats: as a full‑time two‑semester MBA or as a part‑time four‑semester MBA, allowing working professionals to study alongside their careers.

Additional extracurricular activities are also integrated into the student experience, such as guest lectures and excursions, which enrich the academic content and connect students with industry perspectives..

A completed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university degree, with a minimum duration of six semesters.

Preferably the bachelor’s qualification includes 210 ECTS credits, although this can vary by individual profile.

Professional Experience

A minimum of three years of qualified postgraduate professional experience after completing the university degree.

Professional experience must be:

• in a role related to the applicant’s academic background
• performed in a full‑time capacity
• within a registered company (e.g., GmbH, AG, PLC)
• verified through an official confirmation or reference letter from the employer

English proficiency language level B2 – in case you choose the English-taught MBA programme, proof with

• Certificate of a recognised language test like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC and also FCE, CPE, BEC

• Official confirmation from your former university that you Bachelor's degree was taught in English

The total tuition fee for the MBA programme at HDBW Munich is €34,000 for non‑EU students and €28,000 for national and EU students. This fee applies to both study options—full‑time (2 semesters) and part‑time (4 semesters).

All courses and examination fees are included in this amount. There is no additional registration fee for MBA applicants, regardless of their country of origin.

For applicants from Germany and the EU

• 14 March – for entry into the summer semester
• 30 September – for entry into the winter semester

For non‑EU applicants

• 15 January – for entry into the summer semester
• 31 July – for entry into the winter semester

The application process for the HDBW MBA includes submitting an online application form with a motivation letter and all required documents. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be invited to an online admission interview.
