Bloomberg Businessweek

The Bloomberg Businessweek MBA full-time Ranking 2014 shows some surprises. Some schools seem to have profited from the new criteria that Bloomberg Businessweek applied for the first time.

US and Non-US MBAs

Among the US-schools, Duke, for instance, made it from 6 to 1. Yale from 21 to 6. Columbia from 13 to 5. Harvard, by contrast, fell from 2 to 8, Darden from 10 to 20. Among the Non-US schools, the Western University Ivey School made it from 6 to 1 whie INSEAD fell from 2 to 5.

How new criteria can strongly affect the ranking

The criteria are still: Satisfaction of the alumni (45 percent weight), Feedback from corporate recruiters (45 percent weight), and research rank of the school (10 percent weight). The group of corporate recruiters - who was included and who not - has changed, however. In fact, Bloomberg Businessweek softened theri criteria and allowed much more recruiters to participate in the survey than before. You can find the details of this change at Poets & Quants.
