Are applications for MBA programs decreasing, increasing or stagnating worldwide? The new GMAC Application Trend Survey clearly indicates that applications are increasing. In the past year, there has been a significant surge in interest for MBA programs, particularly among international students. Applications to Executive MBA programs have increased by 25%, while overall applications across all types of MBA programs have also risen, encompassing both domestic and international applicants.In 2024, a notable milestone was achieved as the highest number of full-time, two-year and one-year MBA programs in the last decade reported an increase in applications. Specifically, 80% of the two-year MBA programs saw a rise in applications.Additionally, there has been a marked increase in applications from female candidates, with more than half of each MBA program type reporting growth in this demographic. The Flexible MBA program, in particular, saw a remarkable 70% increase in applications from women.
